In the book
The Feathered Sun
(World Wisdom, 1990), this painting is reproduced on page 75. It is titled "Cheyenne Chief" and its date is given as 1963. The chief has a blanket over one arm and is portrayed in front of a tipi with the central symbol of the feathered sun, lightning, a thunderbird, and a stylized buffalo head. Note that the warrior-chief also wears a symbol of concentric circles in the center of his chest.
